Transformations that span the miles: A craftsman In New Orleans

NOLA.  My journey to New Orleans to transform the 1821 interior of a client's favored destination spot:  the stunning and lively French Quarter.  The highly coveted Royal Street, a stone's throw away from the historic "Pirate's Alley".

Revisions In Chalk: Chalkboard Paint Style

Have you ever considered chalkboard paint?  With School in full swing, and Autumn upon us, the appeal of chalkboard paint returns.  A bold impact with purpose and function when brought into the interiors, it is certainly worth the consideration...

"House Appeal" (houseappeal.wordpress.com) shares these thoughts on Chalkboard:

Transform With Paint!

There is nothing quite like the impact of paint in any space.  Quite simply, nothing can update a room like paint!    Whether you are contemplating having your interior painted, or you have exterior color inspirations on your mind, there is no better way to freshen the appearance of any wall or surface than with paint!

Celebrate Earth Day: Go Green With Paint

Earth Day is April 22nd, Sunday.  It is a day to celebrate Earth and certainly support environmental programs.  More than a billion people  participate in Earth Day activities each year.

As far as paint is concerned, Earth Day can be celebrated evey day with paint!  As a painting craftsman, I appreciate the value of using the finest quality products that produce superior results.  I rely on the innovative products that the world of painting offers, including low VOC paint.

Benjamin Moore's Color of The Year: 2012 "Wythe Blue"

Every year Benjamin Moore selects a "Color Of The Year".  This year, the appealing color, "Wythe Blue" was selected.    Almost  a muted  blue-green, it is a soft imbue of color in any interior.  Extraordinary on an exterior door, as well!

Color Selection

Color selection is always a process and never a "BLACK & WHITE" issue.  You will want to take cautious steps when choosing colors for your home.   The first action is to use what is called a Fan Deck.    All paint manufacturers produce these fan decks.  In fact, your friendly local paint store may even let you borrow one!

The Ceiling Medallion Visual

Many have expressed interest in the ceiling medallion since I recently focussed on the subject of this grand ornamentation.  Here is the visual compilation of ceiling medallions ( from houseappeal.wordpress.com) that should verify its importance as eye-candy for the ceiling (or the wall, for that matter!).

Enjoy!
